Actor’s Resume

An actor’s resume is arguably the most interesting and most fun to create and screen. The documents itself is divided into three parts. The first part is contact information. Use bold type and larger sized fonts for this. List all your contact numbers- you need to be easily reached for a job.

List your email address, website, and any union affiliations. Do not list your home address for your own safety but do list your weight, height, eye and hair color, and vocal range if this is a skill. The next section should list your experiences. For those with many previous jobs, choose the most prestigious ones and state the rest to be provided upon request. If the actor is in his/her 20’s it is best to stick to college and professional experience. Finally, list all your special skills in the last section. This could vary in range from all the accents you can do, any type of acrobatic sport, or the like. Remember to use good, clear font, neat printing on good paper, and to trim the length of the resume to fit the back of an 8×10 headshot to which it should be stapled.
